What is a Raspberry Cold Brew Coffee?

Although not on their featured drink list, you can order a raspberry cold brew coffee with sweet cream cold foam at your local Dunkin’ Donuts.

Obviously, this is true as of the time this post was written, but as we all know, most specialty offerings at any local coffee shop are seasonal.

But by learning to make these drinks yourself at home, you can enjoy them at any time of year!

This recipe differs slightly from the Dunkin’ version in that it features fresh raspberries rather than raspberry simple syrup to flavor the cold brew.

The drink finishes with a subtly sweet cold foam to break through the raspberries’ natural tartness.

It’s tart, it’s sweet, and it’s going to rock your world!

What’s in a Raspberry Cold Brew?

The drink starts with fresh raspberries.

Although the drink will eventually mix together, I love creating an enticing layered look by blending ripe raspberries, a pinch of sugar (brown sugar also works), and hot water in a food processor.

Next comes the ice, followed by cold brew coffee mixed with cold water to tone down the coffee flavor.

You can also use chilled regular coffee, in which case you don’t need to add any extra water.

The finishing touch of this drink is a sweet, cold foam that you can make with heavy whipping cream, milk, and a bit of sugar to add a hint of sweetness.

You can use a milk frother or stand mixer with a whisk attachment to make your cold foam.

This drink is a refreshing blend of rich, smooth coffee infused with tart raspberry notes, topped with a dreamy layer of velvety sweet cream that swirls into each sip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you add other flavor syrups to a raspberry cold brew?

Absolutely! White chocolate swirled into the raspberry cold brew would be delectable, as would dark chocolate

What other recipes feature espresso and raspberry?

If you’re craving a raspberry coffee mash-up, try a raspberry dark chocolate affogato or a caramel raspberry espresso shaker

Although it doesn’t have espresso, this copycat raspberry green tea with bubbles is also very tasty.

The raspberry mocha is also a stand-by classic for a reason and is absolutely delectable!

Can you use frozen raspberries instead of fresh ones?

Yes! Use the same amount of frozen as you would fresh. The raspberry slush will have a few tiny ice crystals, making this drink even more refreshing!

Can you make dairy-free cold foam?

Yes, you can. I love using the Country Crock brand of plant cream to make a non-dairy version.

You can then substitute oat milk for skim milk, and voila! You have dairy-free cold foam.
