Boil water for the tea.
While the water is boiling, combine the sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg in a bowl. If you have a spice grinder, run the mixture through it to get a fine powder.
Once the water is hot, add 1 tablespoon of the dry mixture and stir.
Add the tea bag and steep the tea for 4-6 minutes, removing the tea bag once the time has elapsed.
While the tea is steeping, you have the option of running the milk through a milk frother if you want a creamier texture. You certainly don't have to do this step if you are fine with a thinner consistency.
Add ice to the glass of your choice.
Pour the tea mixture through a strainer and into the glass with ice if you did not previously run the spice mixture through a grinder to avoid "sludge" at the bottom of your glass.
Top with whipped cream or soft top and enjoy!
