What is a Honey Cinnamon Latte?

The honey cinnamon latte is a warm, creamy espresso drink infused with sweet honey and fragrant cinnamon, creating a cozy and flavorful balance of spice and sweetness.

Easy enough for a weekday morning but indulgent enough to feel like the weekend, this one might be your new favorite coffee drink!

What’s in a Honey Cinnamon Latte?

This delicious latte comes together with only a few simple ingredients.

Espresso

The coffee flavor in this drink comes from a couple of shots of espresso.

But if you don’t have an espresso machine, I have another great way to make it!

The Aeropress is my new favorite gadget because it makes a fantastic shot of strong espresso and is way easier to clean than my espresso maker!

But you could also substitute regular strong coffee for the espresso.

Or even try instant coffee.

My favorite instant coffee is the Starbucks brand instant dark roast.

You can also leave out the double shot of espresso for a warm milk drink, perfect for your kids!

Milk

I love using nondairy milk for my homemade latte recipes because I’m lactose-intolerant.

And I’ve found that oat milk is the best alternative to dairy milk.

I generally look for the “creamy” or “barista” versions because they produce a very delicious foamy oat milk perfect for any coffee recipe.

But feel free to use regular milk if that’s your preference.

Whole milk will give this drink a richer flavor than other types of milk.

You can also substitute other dairy-free alternatives, including unsweetened almond milk.

This recipe is simple enough to be yummy regardless of your milk preference!

Flavor + Sweetener

And lastly, we come to the flavor combinations that set this drink apart from your standard cup of morning coffee.

A dash of cinnamon adds those hygge vibes.

I love to offset the hint of spice with a touch of vanilla extract.

And the bit of sweetness comes from a simple drizzle of honey.

All these flavors combine, giving you the ultimate caffeinated perfection!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make an iced honey cinnamon latte?

Absolutely! Skip the heating of the milk and instead add the oat milk, cinnamon, honey, and vanilla extract to your favorite glass. Use a handheld milk frother to give it body and combine the ingredients. Add ice and pour 1-2 shots of espresso over the top. Stir and enjoy!

How much sugar is in a honey cinnamon latte?

It depends on how much honey you add to the drink. One tablespoon of honey contains around 17 grams of sugar, so if you add 2 tablespoons of sugar, your drink will have around 34 grams of sugar.

You can often reduce the sugar in your drinks by adding other flavors. In this case, the additional flavors that offset the sweetness are the cinnamon and vanilla extract.

Can you make a latte without an espresso machine?

Absolutely! There are a few different ways.

  1. Use an Aeropress to make espresso. This is my new favorite way to make espresso for all my latte recipes!
  2. The French press is my second favorite way to make espresso without a machine.
  3. You can also use a Moka pot to make espresso.
  4. Regular coffee brewed a bit stronger than usual is another way to make a brew similar to espresso for latte recipes.
  5. Try instant coffee like Starbucks dark roast for an even easier way to substitute espresso.
